E-Mails: September 2008

From Erin Stegall Re: Melanie Butcher

September 29, 2008

Dear Parents and Students,

I am writing you on Mrs. Butcher's computer log-in with administrative permission as I know that she has many distribution lists set up on her account. From now on, if you would like to contact me, please write me at my e-mail address.

As you may know, Mrs. Butcher has had a medical set back (though she is doing well and in good spirits) and will be gone for an undisclosed amount of time as tests are being run. We know she will be fine and is looking forward to coming back to work as soon as she is able.

However, for parents and students that leaves many questions regarding concerts, district auditions, etc. Currently, the administration is working out some solutions and we will need the support of you as parents.

On Thursday, October 2nd at 5:00 pm, we will have a choir booster meeting in the high school choir room where we are encouraging any and all parents (whether or not they are boosters) to attend. Mr. Chatterton, the high school principal, will be there and will answer any questions you many have. Several of you have called and written me asking how you could help. Frankly, you could help by coming to the meeting and volunteering. We will need your help ensuring students are outfitted for the concerts, chaperoning, and getting the concerts ready. The high school concert is Tuesday, October 7th and the Sixth Grade/Junior High Concert is Thursday, October 9th.

Again, thank you for your concern and help. Again, please feel free to write me via e-mail.

Thank you!
Erin Stegall
Sixth Grade and Junior High Choir Director

Choir lesson schedule

September 25, 2008

Dear Parents and Students,

The choir lesson schedule for next week is attached.

Also, I am looking for a couple of parents who would be willing to chaperone during the Olympic Choral Conference (on WIU campus) on Monday, October 27 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm (or a portion of the time).

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Mrs. Butcher

Choir Lesson Schedule

September 19, 2008

Good Morning!

The choir lesson schedule for next week is attached. During their lessons next week, students will sing a portion of our songs for a grade. If a student cannot make their assigned lesson time, they will need to reschedule with me. I could meet them at lunch, right after school or even at the very end of class if time permits. It shouldn't take but a few minutes.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks! Mrs. Butcher

MHS Choir Information

September 10, 2008

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to another school year! Now that I have finalized my email distribution lists, you will be receiving emails from me regarding important information on upcoming events and concerts. When important information is given to the students, I also like to send a copy of it via email to the parents. Communication is so important and I know with your busy schedules (and your child's) that it may be hard to remember it all! Please note the information below.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks and have a great week!

Swing Choir Calendar for September 2008 and Fee reminder

September 5, 2008

Dear Parents,

Attached is the calendar for swing choir for September 2008. I know that all of you can't open Publisher files, so I always have hard copies of the calendar that I give to the students.

Monday morning (9/8) is the first morning rehearsal. For new members, I usually arrive to the school at 6:50 am (not too much before) and we post someone at the doors until about 7:05 am If students arrive after that time, the doors will be locked (security measure). If they knock on the outside windows to the practice rooms, we might be able to hear them, but that can be questionable. After the students are done at 7:40 am, they are do go to the commons.

Thanks so much for getting your children to rehearsal at that early hour. Because we do one rehearsal in the am, the coaches and sponsors of other afterschool activities are very giving to let them miss on Wednesdays for a hour!

Have a great weekend!
Erin Stegall

P.S. Snack people for this week (Monday, Olivia Arnold; Wednesday, Bree Bracey)
